“Hello Everyone
Thanks for visiting this site. OCR Overseas Community Reach is an Australian non-profit organisation that was set up in 2007. While we may be small, we have a big vision. Our directors, David Isaacson, Candice McEwan and Mary Nel are dedicated to helping to develop the Unakho Barcelona community, as well as other communities in need in different parts of the world.
Unakho means "God can" in the Xhosa language. The work that Julius and Irene Bonani have done in the community is a testimony to what God can do through people who are willing to serve Him as they serve others. Every child at Unakho has a remarkable story, and OCR Overseas Community Reach would like to be a voice for the world to hear their stories.
When you see Owam, a five year-old, running around happily settled in his community, it is hard to imagine that he was found in a black plastic bag on a railway line, with his mother who was about to take her life because she had just discovered that she had AIDS.
Unakho opened its heart and arms to Owam, and every other child at Unakho. each child is loved and cared for in the midst of the surrounding poverty and disease.
We hope that you follow developments at Unakho Barcelona and are inspired by the developments in the community.

“The vision of Julius and Irene Bonani is to move the children off the current site, which is very basic and in an environment that presents many risks to the children. As a board, OCR Overseas Community Reach is partnering with Julius and Irene in providing a place for the children that they can call home. The current work is still operating on a very low budget, but we are developing a network of supporters who can use their influence to make the vision a reality. If you know of anyone who would be open to partnering in this vision, please let us know. We know it can happen. Unakho means "God can."     ”
